When I was at the Natural Hair Show back in September, I managed to make it over to Black Onyx World’s booth.  BlackOnyx77 is a YouTuber that I am subscribed to and watch her reviews, tutorials and etc.  She has her own product line called Alikay Naturals that I saw her talk about on some of her videos. You can visit her website at www.blackonyxworld.com. I decided to go ahead and buy some products which were; Lemongrass Leave In, Shea Yogurt Hair Moisturizer, and Wake Me Up Daily Curl Refresher(haven’t tried this product yet), since they were at a discounted price.

I used the Shea Yogurt on dry hair when I did my mini twist last month and I loved it.  On Saturday, I wanted to use the products together, after my co wash, to see how they worked on my hair.  I applied the Leave In first then sealed with the Shea Yogurt. The Leave In is in a spray bottle instead of squeezing it out of a spout, which is a different for me. I am use to more of creamed based leave in’s.  That was fine but I was worried that it wasn’t going to coat my strands enough. The Shea Yogurt is whipped with different oils to make it more of a smooth consistency.  I love how you put in your hand and it just melts, once rubbed together.  If you know how Raw Shea Butter is, it is hard and you literally have to break apart to get what you want out of it.   Sometimes it can feel a little gritty when you are rubbing it in.  This does not do that.  Also the smell of both products is GRRRREEEEEAAAATTTTT!!! I love the way it makes my hair smell.

When I took my hair down, I really did not like the way it felt… It actually felt a little dry.  As the day went on, my hair did feel softer than the morning before which was weird to me.  That night, I twisted my hair up and just spritzed water to my ends.  The next morning my hair felt softer than the first day I took them down.  I don’t know if it was because I co washed and it just didn’t react well with the products.  I am not sure, but I will be trying the products again on freshly washed hair just to see if there will be a difference.  Also, since the leave in is a spray, I may spray a little more product in it to see if that will help with the moisture.
